I colored my Rapunzel art nouveau style piece today! I really like how it came out. I debated a lot on whether or not I should do some kind of pattern on the outside where the light purple is...but I was worried it would be too distracting from the main piece in the center and just left it.
After looking at a lot of art nouveau images I was inspired to draw this of Rapunzel. I've always enjoyed the style and had been wanting to try something like it for a while. I did use a reference since I am not used to drawing in this style though. I'm not sure who the original artist was, but the image was here: [link]
I changed it a bit to suit my own style and the idea I had in my mind but I'm sure you can see the similarities. I really like how the lanterns came around here and lead my down to the magical flower right in front of her hair. I wish I could have given it a more glowy effect or made it stand out more from the hair, but I'm still pretty happy with it.
