This was one of the ones at the top of my most recent poll when I asked which one would people most like to see colored. At the time I started it, it was tied with my Rapunzel sketch. Now there is another sketch in the lead and I will probably look into coloring that one next.
I must say, this one took longer to color than I thought it would...I was amazed but at the same time I couldn't wait to see how it would turn out. I particularly love her necklace! I had an idea of what I wanted to do with it, but was uncertain if I would be able to accomplish it, and I was very happy with it when I got done!
I also feel like I am starting to get more comfortable with the digital painting...I don't even feel like I need to keep my lineart anymore, which is something I was beginning to think I would never accomplish. I'm very happy about that because I very much love the painterly style that comes out when I venture away from using lineart.
Anyway...the title is because I kept having this song from Pocahontas going through my head when coloring this. It is probably one of my favorite songs from a Disney movie. "If I never knew you".
Anyway, feel free to let me know what you think.
Pocahontas and John Smith (c) Disney.
